s41678cb116385_3_0My name is Dr. Brian D. Mudd. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. I’m a Board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, who received my undergraduate degree in Biology, Summa Cum Laude, from California State University at Northridge in 1972 and my Doctorate in Dental Surgery degree from UCLA in 1976. I did my residency at UCLA , finishing in 1979, followed by a two year medical externship at University of Southern California. I entered private practice in 1979. I am a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and belong to a number of organizations, including the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Academy of Osseointegration, and American Military Surgeons of the United States.

I have devoted my professional career to all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery practice with special interests in the treatment of missing teeth through dental implant procedures, bone grafting, dental extractions, and treatment of cysts and tumors of the oral cavity, as well as anesthetic techniques. To keep abreast of the latest developments in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery I have always exceeded state requirements for continuing education. I have been appointed as a California State Examiner for Sedation and Anesthesia in Dentistry.

I am an avid salt-water fisherman and ocean swimmer. I love cooking and maintain a bountiful home garden. I am retired from the United States Air Force Reserve, where I obtained the rank of Colonel. I am also a licensed private pilot. My wife, Jan, and I have two children. Evan is training to become an electrical contractor, while Kurt is a fireman/paramedic in Bend, Oregon. Jan and I actively support the search for a cure for AIDS, and are contributors to the Stroke Center in Palm Springs, California. In addition, we support youth sports, with emphasis on water sports, and I sponsor an adult Hispanic soccer team which has won two championships in three years!
